My experiences:
I remember first seeing an episode in 1994. I was living with my father (ick) in Bay St. Louis, MS, for a while. (Thank God he let me!) I was really down and out, living in his office/spare room. All my friends lived in Metairie (near New Orleans, LA). I was very depressed. A local station near Bay St. Louis began airing Sailor Moon. I saw the end of the first episode. It was very mysterious to me. A cat was explaining to a sweet, scared girl that she was Sailor Moon, and that it was her mission to find the princess and defeat the Negaverse. She couldn't believe her. She thought she was in a dream. So was I.
The next time I spoke to my friend, Marci (living in Metairie), I told her about this wonderful show. She had seen it too! It was fate that Sailor Moon would traverse the distances to reunite us. We are all still recoiling in joy from the initial impact of this episode.
